install rackitfile™

The Rackitfile™ mounts easily to most surfaces and comes with wood/particle board screws, the best drywall anchors on the market and a mounting template with instructions. A mounted Rackitfile protrudes 6 inches from the wall and fully loaded is 21 inches from top to bottom (the unit itself is 12 ¾” tall). If you are concerned about weight, the straight pullout weight rating for the whole unit mounted with our drywall anchors is 90 lbs with a shear of 140 lbs. In other words you would run out of space before you could put too much weight in a Rackitfile. A Rackitfile is designed to utilize vertical space almost doubling the overall horizontal filing space which means you almost have 12 inches of filing space. Even if you do need more room, the Walfile System is expandable by just adding more Rackitfile units.

Mounting Instructions

• 1. In the place you wish to mount your RACKITFILE™ tape the mounting stencil on all four corners flat to the surface ensuring the stencil is level.
  
  
• 2. Using a pin or nail, poke through the stencil at the mounting hole locations (+) to mark the wall for either standard or legal size folders.
  
  
• 3. Remove the stencil making note of the mounting hole locations.

For Drywall continue…

• 4. To avoid complications, bang the nail provided through the drywall at the mounting hole locations to ensure there is no support structure behind the drywall to interfere with the drywall anchors. If the nail does not hammer through freely adjust all the mounting hole locations 2” to left or right.
  
  
• 5. Using constant pressure, slowly screw the drywall anchors into the drywall at the marked locations until they are flush with the wall surface.
  
  
• 6. Place the RACKITFILE™ on the wall with the mounting brackets facing inward and fasten to the wall with the large 2 1/8” screws provided. (Please note: To anchor the RACKITFILE™ to the wall securely the screws need to be tightened firmly in order to fully activate the wall anchor locking device – see diagram.) Fine adjustment can be made by loosening the screws to move the RACKITFILE™ sides in or out.

For Wood/Particle Board continue…

Note: For best results pre-drill holes with a 1/16” to 3/32” drill bit

• 4. Place the RACKITFILET™ on the surface over the marked locations with the mounting brackets facing inward and fasten to the surface using the small 1/2” screws provided. Fine adjustment can be made by loosening the screws to move the RACKITFILE™ sides in or out.
